I've had plenty of email addresses in my life, but it was once the spamming fashion started I chose to be careful how I handle business.
I never post my email addresses, I never use my email addresses to sign up for things, I am very careful to even the businesses/associates to whom I give my email addresses to.
This is because I've been to that place where within a month a box starts getting flooded with spam emails. I hate that.
Now with all this consideration and care on my part, I am still finding out my in box gets spam more and more, and i wonder HOW COME?
Well folks, it turns out it is all because of some hapless individuals (I don't blame them) who insist on using my email for:
1. Sending me like stupid e-cards. YEAH JACKASS include my full name. *******s! Now I get spam email with my full name in it.
2. Keep forwarding my email to other jackasses with the Name field filled out with my name. ******g hell! WHY would anybody do that knowing there are data collection/spamming bots rummaging the net around?
Morale of the story:
1. DO NOT include your contact names in the stupid "Address Book" unless you ask them first. All websites, including yahoo are not free without a reason. Information is sold and brokered.
2. DO NOT send your associates/friends stupid clips, e-cards, messages etc without asking. They will be the ones that will suffer spam.
OH and here's the latest trend. If you use free SMS Texting service on the Internet THEY WILL USE THE NUMBER YOU ENTERED TO SPAM CELL PHONES!
Ever wonder where those text messages that seem intimate but u dont know the number came from?
What the ****! I thought this was obvious but there are some pretty dumb people out there.
Whew. OK I feel better. Now I will go setup another email address.
